#271 Young Himba woman, profile, Purros, Namibia

"Women and Wildlands"©

The Himba, pastoral cattle herders, live in the northwest corner of Nambia, and are one of the last truly nomadic tribes in Africa. Dressed in goat skins and covering their bodies in ocher mixed with beef fat and aromatic herbs. They are stunning, and live a harsh life in the deserts of the north. I saw her and I thought "Goddess". I was in awe of her beauty, her strength, her youth. I think she knew.
